The teachers went back to school on the 24th. The kids start on Wednesday. I had to create a new month for my calendar since I have never been teaching in July before. We are trying out a year round schedule ( which I did not vote for)this year. I might like it when we get a break on October but now, not so much. childcare is an issue. As is the fact that I'm not done recreating. Lol. We got a class list yesterday so I have been making lots of labels today. I hit up the container store and got lots of great new boxes. I also hit up Walmart and target for their sales. I think I'm ready! We have district meetings tomorrow and then a planning day. I hear we have a new lesson plan format. So I can't really start plans yet. I'm excited to get started. Wish me luck!
Somebody asked me about the name of my blog. All the cute first grade names have been taken. So I went with something more obscure. Many years ago one of my students was announcing a piano piece I was going to play to the class. It was called Fur Elise by Beethoven. When he announced it he understood it to be Furry Leaves by Bay Toven. Hahaha
